Auction for Good

A New OrgOrbit Module to Empower Fundraising

I'm excited to introduce a high-impact new module inside OrgOrbit โ€” one that could redefine how purpose-driven organizations raise funds through meaningful commerce.

Let's call it Auction for Good.

This feature allows any individual, brand, or influencer to auction valuable items like real estate, vehicles, electronics, or memorabilia. The key condition? At least 20% of the final sale must go to a registered organization listed on OrgOrbit.

This is not a lottery or game of chance. It's a fully legal, transparent auction, where the highest bidder wins and every transaction supports a cause.

๐ŸŽฏ What It Enables

  • Turn unused or premium assets into fundraising tools
  • Link every transaction to a trusted organization
  • Engage buyers who want value with impact
  • Help organizations raise funds without relying only on donations

๐Ÿ›๏ธ How It Works

๐Ÿ”ธ For Sellers

  • List your item with accurate details
  • Optionally set a reserve price (minimum sale value)
  • Choose a listed organization to receive at least 20% of final sale
  • After auction ends, you receive your balance after platform fee and donation split

๐Ÿ”ธ For Bidders

  • Browse campaigns that excite you
  • Place bids in real-time
  • Highest bidder wins and receives the product
  • Part of your payment goes to a cause you believe in

๐Ÿ“œ Auction Rules and Flow

๐Ÿ“Œ Listing Rules for Sellers

  • Must own or legally represent the listed item
  • Can set a minimum reserve price (optional)
  • Must commit to donating minimum 20% to a listed organization
  • High-value items may require ownership verification

๐Ÿ‘ค Participation Rules for Bidders

  • Only verified users can place bids
  • Every new bid must exceed the last by a minimum increment (e.g. โ‚น1000)
  • Bids are binding and cannot be withdrawn
  • Bidders accept platform terms during participation

โฑ๏ธ Auction Duration and Closure

  • Auctions run for a fixed duration (e.g. 3 to 7 days)
  • Highest bidder at the end wins
  • If reserve price is not met, auction is void and no payment is collected

๐Ÿ’ณ Post-Auction Settlement

  • Winning bidder must pay within 48 hours
  • Payment is split automatically:
Seller receives their share
20% or more goes to the selected organization
Platform receives a service fee (e.g. 10%)
  • If payment is not made, second-highest bidder may be contacted
  • Sellers or buyers who repeatedly violate terms may be suspended

๐Ÿšš Delivery & Fulfilment

  • Seller is responsible for delivering the item (unless logistics support is enabled)
  • For high-value goods, tracking and verification may be required
  • Platform assists in dispute resolution where needed

๐ŸŒ Why This Matters

This module makes it easy for contributors, brands, and well-wishers to support organizations by parting with something valuable โ€” not as a donation, but as a meaningful transaction. It allows causes to receive funds in a new, modern way that builds trust, transparency, and scalability.

Let's build it well and make it something we're proud to roll out globally.
